Raining Day

I don't like rainy day. It reminds me Japanese rainy season. In general, it comes from end of May to end of July depends on year. I can't enjoy raining. I feel always depressed at the days. I don't like an umbrella and rain- boots either. On Sunday, Japanese grocery store was very slowing while I worked. It was very difficult to find my works. The time went to past slowly in that situation. I was very tired. I want to see sun. I miss Sunny day.

Saturday night

I'm going to introduce my friend, Andy. He is a university student and a singer. He had a CD release live in Manhattan on Saturday night. It was so cool. I really enjoyed listening his song with whisky and vodka. I love Andy's voice and percussion, Kozza. I heard Kozza's grandfather is a very famous percussionist and all his family members are percussionist or drummer. His play was amazing.

Andy was a my English teacher in last summer. My friend introduced him to me because he was looking for part-time-job. He wanted to teach English to Japanese people because his father is a Japanese. He can speak a little Japanese.

He really hope to succeed in the music world. The way is not easy. However, I'm going to support him. If someone is interested in his music, Please check the You Tube and type Andy Suzuki. You can see his live video.

Smile

I had good time with my classmates in volunteering. I was able to see different faces of classmates. We always see same faces in class. However, they seemed to enjoy the volunteering.We had good opportunity to clean up with shack at The greenhouse. After finished cleaning the shack, I saw the teachers' smiles and I saw the children's smiles too. Their smiles made me satisfied.

Happy Birth Day of my grandmother in N.Y

I've already talked about my friend who is the oldest among my friends in N.Y. She is like my grandmother. Fortunately, I didn't have work today. After finished school, I went to the flower shop where my another friend works and I bought a pretty bouquet. My friend made a good discount it. I took it and went to my grandmother's house. She was very happy to see me and we spent time together with coffee. She told me how hard to live in 1929 and compared between the world depression and now. At the time, in 1929 , she was 15 years old. She said she didn't have enough good and anythings. It was miserable. However, she has a healthy body and happy life.

I had very good time with her.

After work

It was like summer. Unfortunatery, I was working during day. I worked until 6:30pm. Today's my work was at the Japanese grocery store. They sell Japanese beer. I asked the maneger whether I can put beers into the refrigerator until I go back home. The manager accepted my request. I brought cold beers at home. When I arrived at my home, my friend family was having dinner in the back yard. They had a T-bone steak. I enjoyed having the beers and the steak. My friend daughter loves to eat meat aroud the T-bone. She held the bone in her hands and enjoyed eating. I love to eat at out of the house.

Spring

It was beautiful day today. I didn't like this season, spring when I was in Japan. I know Japanese spring is very beautiful, but I felt melancholy. I don't know why? However, it always changes weather during spring in Japan. Therefore, my feeling also changes every day.

One of other reason, why I was melancholy

in Japan is that it is time to change the grade

of a school. Japanese companies also accept freshmen in April. Spring is time to change for school and the companies schedules. However, I'm enjoying spring in N.Y. because it was very cold during winter. Flowers remind me Japanese beautiful spring. Now, I like spring.

Same-Sex Marrige.

There is currently a controversy about "Guy Marriage" in N.Y. Some of the U.S states allow to marry with guy couples. I have a many guy friends in Japan. All of my guy friends have good career and they succeed in their business. However, they have sufferings about their futures because they can't get married to lovers. One of them is a dress designer. He has a own company and gorgeous apartment in Tokyo. However, he doesn't have his children and life partner. He always worry about that he wonder if he died. I'll support to the idea "Guy Marriage" because guy couple are entitled to be happy. I think they are not unusual people. They just love person with same sex.

IMAX

Do you know what IMAX is? I didn't know that. My friend asked me whether I can get discount tickets from NCC because the theater is next to NCC. However, I looked into IMAX on the Internet and I was interested in IMAX company. The IMAX system appeared at EXPO'67 in Montreal, Canada where multi-screen films were the hit of the fair. A small group of Canadian filmmakers who had made some of those popular films,decided to design a new system using single, powerful projector. They showed the films at EXPO'70 in Osaka, Japan. There are currently more than 320 IMAX theatres in 42 countries. I'm not curious about high technology systems, but I want to see the films once in my whole life.

Hair Salon

I went to hair salon after finished school today. Suddenly, I wanted to change my hair style and change my feelings. I also took a head massage. It was wonderful. While I was taken the massage, I was about a fall asleep. I love taking a massage. When I lived in Japan, I took the massage twice a month. However, I didn't take the massage in N.Y so far. I felt really refreshed. At night, I went to my grandmother's house.( She is not real my grandmother.) She would be 95 years old for next week. She made Italian lasagna and salad to me and had a dinner together. She was immigrant from Italy when she was 9 years old. Her lasagne's recipe is traditional. She was taught it from her mother.The lasagna was the best among my experience. I enjoyed eating home made lasagna and having good time with her.

Tukiji Fish Market in Tokyo,Japan.

There is a big fish market in central Tokyo, Japan. Tukiji Fish Market is the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world and also one of the largest wholesale food markets of any kinds. The out of market is mixture wholesale and retail shops that sell Japanese kitchen tools, restaurant supplies, groceries, seafood and many restaurant, especially sushi restaurant.You can enjoy seeing them. I used to go there once a week for getting them in my restaurant. I really enjoyed buying fresh fish. I also enjoyed having meals at the restaurant after finished shopping. If you have a any chance to go to Japan, you should go there.

Traditional Japanese Foods.

Japanese life expectancy is the longest in the world. The reason is traditional food I think. We are eating vegetables, fish, meat and rice with well-balanced. I show you these dish pictures that don't use oil when we cook them.
Lately,there are many fast foods restaurant in Japan. It is to increase people with weight problem. Eating fast food is very convenience to busy business men or teenagers. Also many young mother don't cook traditional foods at home recently. However, if you eat traditional Japanese food every day, you would get long life with healthy.

I love athletes.

Many Japanese athletes play the world wide. I always support them because they are having a hard way. Playing the world wide is very tough, but they always aim for world champions. One of my favorite athlete is Krumm-Date-Kimiko, tennis player. She retired several years ago. However, she came bake to her field last year and so she got a champion of ITF in Monzon, Spain today. She is 38 years old now, but she teach me that I'm able to reach my goal even though I'm not young. However, I get into slump of leaning English. I can't understand what someone say in English and I can't understand anything in English. I don't know what should I do. I just see their good news on the Internet.

Good Friday.

I had dinner with my friend tonight who is 95 years old. She is the oldest among my friends. We had seafood salad, broiled fish, spinach soup and Italian macaroni with tomato sauce. I always have good time with her. One day, I asked her "How are you keeping your health and having young mind?" She said "You need to think about others and so you can find works that you can do for them. Volunteer activities gives me special power."

She lives in alone even though she has children. She still drives and goes to sports gym twice a week. She loves to read a book. She is curious person and she always tries to know new things. She is my ideal woman. I love her very much, my grandmother in N.Y.

Party

April is the season for Hanami or cherry blossom viewing in Japan. Japanese people like having parties when cherry blossoms are in full bloom. It's fun to enjoy drinking and eating under cherry blossoms.Seat and I are going to have a small party tomorrow night. We'll meet at Seat's house after work even though we can't see cherry blossoms. I'll prepare some foods for our dinner. How are you doing, my classmate? Are you enjoying this vacation?

Fc Barcelona

　I've always checked my classmate's blogs because I can learn English from their blogs. Some of our classmates love soccer and me, too. I'm going to tell you my friend Masashi's story again.　(Barbara, I aready introduced him in my presentation.) When he lived in Barcelona, he became a member of FC Barcelona(socio). He got a his own seat in Camp Nou Stadium. He still keeps it the membership even though he can't go there. However, he visited there in 2005. He had to make a report about foreign country's soccer in order to get a soccer coach license. He asked FC Barca's office if he could watch their practice near by players. FC Barca accepted Masashi's offer.

　When I found these pictures, I was excited because the pictures was showing up with Masashi and the famous players. He posted these pictures on his blog yesterday. They are amazing photos, aren't they? I've liked Frank Rijkaard since I saw him for the first time in The World Cup in France. He was a coach in Holland national team. I've never seen his play, but I liked his teams such as Holland national team, FC Barca. Unfortunately, I don't have cable TV. I can't watch any soccer games at home. However, I love soccer!!

Skiing

I love to go skiing. I started skiing when I was 9 yeas old. In this season, I went to Windham Mountain for 3 times. Each time, I stayed at B&B in Catskill. They were built in 1863. There is a delicious German restaurant and a sulfur hot-spring. By the time I was there, I always have had wonderful time. It's going to be out of ski season. I'm going to do running once or twice a week. I hope so.

Scotch Whisky

I'm writing this blog with Scotch Whisky now. My friend's husband bought the 18 years old Macallan last week. It's a luxury. I always study at the kitchen. When I was studying, sometimes he gave me some drinks. So, I need to tell you my situation in N.Y. I'm living in my friend's house. My friend is Japanese, her husband is American, her daughter is 2 years old. However, they are like my real family. I'm very comfortable to live with them. Anyway, my friend and I are drinkers. I used to drink every night during dinner, but I failed the writing test last semester. Therefore, I stop drinking during week day except today. Sometimes, I really want to go to a bar, but I can't do that because I have to drive wherever I go out. I'm only able to drink with my friend who can't drink any alcohol when I go to a bar. However, I've never had like that situation in N.Y, yet. However, this Whisky is amazing. It's very tasty!!

Second session

It was starting second session today. The first day of new teacher was fresh. Our class is a little bit noisy, but every classmates are very nice. I like to study with them. I hope Barbara will be able to enjoy in our class. However, I was so tired because there was American-Asian-Festival at Farmingdale College on Saturday. I was asked to help the festival by my friend and I had to prepare the Japanese booth setting from on Thursday. I didn't have enough time for sleeping. I also had to go work on Sunday. I had good time this weekend, but I was so tired.
